In the Prior Learning Assessment Information Sessions, attendees learn the four ways that McGhee students may earn credit for their prior college-level learning. Topics covered will include foreign language proficiency, standardized testing (CLEP/Excelsior College/Advanced Placement exams), transfer credits, and credits earned through the portfolio process in McGhee's Seminar in Experiential Learning (attending this information session is a prerequisite for entering the seminar).

The main focus of the assessment will be the prior college-level learning that adults have earned before returning to or starting college. Students will also be given the opportunity to ask questions related to individual academic circumstances.

The session will be held at 7 East 12th Street (between University Place and Fifth Avenue) in conference room 322.

Art Law Day: Current Legal Issues for Appraisers, Attorneys, and Collectors
Join NYU-SCPS and the Appraisers Association of America in a one-day conference with a range of experts addressing fresh and timely art law topics, including the complexities of art insurance claims, stolen art issues, estate planning changes, standards and protocols, and updates on new regulations and practices. From current legal issues in art insurance to intellectual property concerns to changes in the art tax environment, this conference is ideal for all those who work in the related fields of art insurance, art law, cultural property law, the appraisal and art business professions, and for those who collect and want to know more about legal issues in the arts.

General Admission 250;
Members of AAA/ISA/ASA/RICS, NYU students, NYC Bar Association: $225;
CLE units and financial aid are available. Deadline for application Monday, October 15, 2013.
Registration fees are non-refundable, if paid after November 1, 2013.
