| 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM | McGhee Prior Learning Assessment Information Session In the Prior Learning Assessment Information Sessions, attendees learn the four ways that McGhee students may earn credit for their prior college-level learning. Topics covered will include foreign language proficiency, standardized testing (CLEP/Excelsior College/Advanced Placement exams), transfer credits, and credits earned through the portfolio process in McGhee's Seminar in Experiential Learning (attending this information session is a prerequisite for entering the seminar).
The main focus of the assessment will be the prior college-level learning that adults have earned before returning to or starting college. Students will also be given the opportunity to ask questions related to individual academic circumstances. The session will be held at 7. East 12th Street (between University Place and Fifth Avenue) in conference room 322.

| 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM | Free Writing Classes at the NYU Bookstore The Department of Humanities, Arts, and Writing at NYU’s School of Continuing and Professional Studies invites all new and experienced writers to another series of free creative writing classes at the NYU Bookstore.
Master teachers from the Writing Program at SCPS will be lecturing on a range of writing skills, followed by writing exercises and time for discussion. Afterwards, instructors will sign copies of their books and offer additional advice to aspiring writers.
Take advantage of this opportunity to sample NYU-SCPS courses and learn about the craft of writing.
