MS in Publishing: Digital and Print Media Online Information Session

As more companies, nonprofits, and government agencies use project-based methods to accomplish their goals and objectives, experienced project managers will be in greater demand than ever before. The 36-credit MS in Project Management, offered by the NYU School of Professional Studies, provides a rigorous academic experience that is grounded in the best practices, principles, and methodologies. Management and leadership skills are fused with the business and technological know-how needed to oversee projects across industries, providing you with the tools to get the job done now and throughout your career.

McGhee Prior-Learning Assessment Information Session
5:00 PM - 6:00 PM

In the Prior Learning Assessment Information Sessions, attendees learn the four ways that McGhee students may earn credit for their prior college-level learning. Topics covered will include foreign language proficiency testing, standardized testing (CLEP/UExcel©/Advanced Placement exams), transfer credits, and credits earned through the portfolio process in McGhee's Seminar in Experiential Learning (attending this information session is a prerequisite for entering the Seminar).

The main focus of the assessment will be the prior college-level learning that adults have earned before returning to or starting college. Students will also be given the opportunity to ask questions related to individual academic circumstances.

The session will be held at 7 East 12th Street (between University Place and Fifth Avenue).

MS in Construction Management Online Information Session

Today's construction professionals require the strategic, analytical, and leadership skills-as well as the sophisticated technical expertise-to anticipate and to adapt to the dynamic forces that are constantly reshaping the industry. Risk Analysis, for example, has become an industry touchstone, and new technologies in software change the context for construction decision making and project management. The MS in Construction Management, offered by the NYU School of Professional Studies Schack Institute of Real Estate, provides the applied knowledge necessary to propel your career forward in areas such as project management, site logistics, site safety, project cost estimating, negotiations, legal aspects, planning, scheduling, and cost control. Whether you are already a seasoned construction manager or are new to the field, you will learn to synthesize what you gain in our program and to apply your knowledge to move forward professionally in construction management.

Admission counselors will be available throughout the day to answer any questions you may have. While your application is being reviewed, you will be able to speak with an Academic advisor to have your transcripts evaluated for transfer credit. In order to receive a decision, you must have a submitted and completed application on file. Please bring any outstanding documents when attending this event.

Summer Publishing Institute (SPI) Online Information Session
12:00 PM - 1:00 PM

Join us online to learn more about our six-week, summer program (June 5 - July 14, 2017), developed specifically for recent college graduates who are interested in careers in the book, magazine, and digital media publishing industries. SPI, now in its 39th year, annually features more than 150 leading industry executives who serve as faculty members and speakers. Students attend lectures and workshops that explore key publishing issues; visit some of the top book, magazine, and digital publishing headquarters; and participate in a career fair. SPI awards six graduate credits to those who successfully complete the program. These credits may be applied to the M.S. in Publishing: Digital and Print Media program or to an advanced degree at another institution of higher education where the credits are deemed appropriate. Students may choose to apply to both programs and enter the graduate program in the fall with six credits of advanced standing after successful completion of SPI.
